Her Nomad Diary

travel slow, travel solo

Inspiring slower journeys with thoughtful guides and the confidence to travel solo

Ready for your next adventure? Welcome to Her Nomad Diary, a collection of guides and insights from a solo traveler who prefers to slow down and experience new destinations deeply. As a full-time traveler for the past three years, I’ve done everything from hardcore European budget travel during a university study abroad in Italy to living and teaching English on the Spanish island of Mallorca to landing my dream remote job and bouncing around the world’s best surf towns with a backpack.

My travel style is slow; I love taking the time to really get to know the soul of a place, even if this means skipping some of the “must-sees” or heading off the beaten path. Because of this, you can expect in-depth guides and hidden gem recommendations, as I’ve had the opportunity to really explore. I am a huge proponent of solo travel — adventuring alone is deeply empowering and has made me more confident and resilient than I ever imagined. Explore my guides to inspire your next slow, solo travel adventure.

Slow Traveler. Nomad Lifestyle.

Hey, I’m Sara! I fell in love with travel after a family trip to China when I was twelve years old; the vibrancy of the people and the authenticity of the culture fascinated me. Now, forty-some countries later, including living in Ireland, Spain, Italy, and New Zealand, I live a fully nomadic lifestyle as a travel writer and editor.

I created Her Nomad Diary to share authentic, human-driven content that inspires readers to travel slowly, make meaningful connections, and explore solo.
